Doing IT for Good
Landmark is proud to host Doing IT For Good (DITFG) our Annual Networking and Charity event.
Doing IT for Good brings together
high profile business and technology
executives, designed to foster
cross-industry collaboration
while encouraging new ways to
promote Corporate Social
Responsibility in the local
community.
These invitation-only events combine
networking with a philanthropic
mission to raise awareness about a
local non-profit in the community.
This year, we proudly showcase a
wonderful non-profit called
Year Up,
which offers urban young adults a
path to cross the Opportunity Divide
through classroom education in
Information Technology coupled with
apprenticeships at Fortune 500
companies .
Year Up provides a supportive foundation for students to develop successful careers in IT, following six months of classroom-based education and six months of corporate apprenticeship with one of Year Up's prestigious corporate partners. This unique program furthermore combines educational stipends and college credits for students, with equal emphasis placed on learning both the IT skills and the professional and business communication skills required to succeed in today's workplace.
Recent programs have included presentations by David Fike, CTO of Marsh & McLennan, and a personal story shared by John Sherman, a Year Up NYC graduate and current Senior IT Specialist on the Debt Market Trading Floor at Merrill Lynch.
We invite you to keep in touch with
