John Alexander
Chairman of the Board
Daiichi Sankyo Inc.

John C. Alexander M.D. currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Daiichi Sankyo after serving previously as Global Head of R&D for Daiichi Sankyo and as Chairman of Global Executive Meeting of Research And Development (GEMRAD) of Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited. Together, he has over 30 years of drug development experience and seven years of experience at Daiichi Sankyo where he was instrumental in the merger that formed the joint Daiichi Sankyo company, handling the integration of research operations at the two companies. At Daiichi, John has spent time working to build global development teams and strengthen relationships across borders to ensure that the company remains competitive in the global marketplace.

Arthur (Art) Rosenthal, Ph.D.

Dr. Art Rosenthal is CEO of Cappella, Inc and was formerly Chairman and CEO of Labcoat, Ltd. Prior to joining Labcoat, he held multiple leadership roles at Boston Scientific, and was the company’s Senior Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Committee Member until his retirement in January 2005. Prior to Boston Scientific, he was VP of R&D at Johnson & Johnson Medical Products in charge of worldwide research, development, regulatory and clinical affairs. Earlier in his career, he held various R&D positions with Davol, Inc. a division of CR Bard, Kendall, Clinipad, 3M Medical, Howmedica and Pfizer. Dr. Rosenthal currently serves as a non-executive director for Renovo, Group, PLC. Dr. Rosenthal also serves as a Board Member of Cyberonics, Inc. He is adjunct professor of translational biomedical engineering at Boston University, and received a BA in Bacteriology and Chemistry from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts. He conducted Postdoctoral research at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (NY Downstate Medical Center) in Clinical Enzymology.

Helena Wisniewski, Ph.D.
Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate School

Dr. Helena S. Wisniewski was appointed Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate School, University of Alaska Anchorage, in August 2011. She also is Chief Executive Officer of Equinox Toys, LLC, a company she founded in 2009 to develop innovative toys using biometrics. Helena also is a special consultant to the Naval Research Advisory Committee, the senior scientific advisory group to the Secretary of the Navy. From August 2004 until October 2008, she was Vice President, Research and Enterprise Development, Stevens Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Stevens Institute in 2004, Helena was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Aurora Biometrics, Inc., a company she founded based on her patented technology. Before that, she was a senior executive at Lockheed Corporation and a Vice President of the Titan Corporation. She also was Founding Director of the mathematics program at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and held a key position at the CIA. Helena is a director of Smart Trax, Inc. an educational media company, serves on the advisory board to Soar Technology Inc., which develops, and deploys cognitive software to solve complex problems in training, modeling & simulation, robotics and medical informatics and on the board of Kulper and Company, LLC, where she chairs its research committee. Helena serves on the following Committees of the Board of Directors of Greatbatch, Inc.: Technology Development and Innovation Committee, Audit Committee.
