currently the CIO for Northwestern
University's campus in Qatar, where
he leads Northwestern University
Information Technology's (NUIT)
efforts to deploy and support a
technology infrastructure which
supports faculty, staff, and
students at Northwestern
University-Qatar and cohesively link
to the Northwestern University
campuses. Previously, David
was the Director, Telecommunications and Network Services at Northwestern University
where he managed a staff of 50 Network Services group, Network Analysts, Network
Security Officer as well as having Field Operations management, Switching Center
Management, and Call Center Management report directly to his position.
Previously, David was a Network Consultant at UB Networks and was the
Manager, Communications System Engineering at the University of Buffalo,
Computing Center.

David Fike has over 25 years of

Presently, Dave is Senior Vice
President and CTO of the MMC Global
Technology Infrastructure (MGTI)
group. He is responsible for
managing 1400 FTE and consulting
staff globally as well as a $650MM
technology infrastructure budget.
Dave joined MMC from Putnam
Investments, where as Managing
Director of Enterprise Computing and
Communications, his responsibilities
spanned all aspects of voice and
data networking, data center
engineering and operations,
information security, disaster
recovery and business continuity,
desktop engineering and support,
call center technologies, help desk,
and the network operations center.
Prior to joining Putnam, David was
Director of Consulting at Gartner
Group in Stamford, Connecticut.
Previously, David was with the
United States Senate in Washington,
DC for 13 years where he was
responsible for all of the Senate’s
nation-wide voice and data
networking systems. David holds a
B.S. in Finance from the University
of Maryland, and an M.S. in
Telecommunications Management also
from the University of Maryland.
Steven Peltzman

As CIO for the MoMA, Steven is responsible for leading the strategy and operations for all of MoMA’s technology, including infrastructure and applications, Web sites, multimedia displays and exhibitions, and technology-related business development. Over the last four years, he has spearheaded the technology design and implementation for MoMA’s landmark $858 million building project. Prior to his tenure at MoMA, Steven spent seven years as a United States Air Force officer, where he developed and assessed stealth technology and tactics for the B-2 Stealth Bomber Program Office and served as a program director for the Joint Mission Planning Program Office. He has also held the position of Vice President of Technology Operations for Dice.com (EarthWeb.com). Steven holds a BS in aeronautical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
William Pence, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

William is presently Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of WebMD, having joined the company in November 2007. Currently William manages WebMD's technology organization, including the engineering, operations and corporate information technology groups, and provides strategic guidance for the business as part of the executive management team.
Prior to joining WebMD, William played a pioneering role in the development of the online music market, as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President at Napster from 2003 to 2007, and as the Chief Technology Officer for Universal Music Group's and Sony's joint ventures from 2000 to 2003. During this time, William brought to market the world's first online music subscription service, and was instrumental in the development of the business models and infrastructure necessary to create licensed, legitimate online media services.
William spent ten years at IBM, where he held various technology management positions, including roles in the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center as well as in the software division, where he focused on guiding research and development and commercializing technology for IBM product divisions. In 2006, he was named one of Computerworld's "Premier 100 IT Executives".
William received his B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Virginia and earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
Carol Rizzo

Carol Rizzo is a seasoned Operations
and Technology executive with over
25 years experience including as the
former CTO of
Kaiser Permanente, Citigroup and AIG. Her career
includes business operations
management as well as line
technology management and consulting
assignments with extensive
international experience. Carol’s
forte has been in helping her
business partners amplify expertise,
create operational efficiencies and
improve customer experience through
the application of technologies at
firms including Kaiser Permanente,
AIG, Citibank, Fidelity Investments,
Viacom and Digital Equipment. As CTO
at Citigroup, she led the innovative
design and development of a web
based platform that enables
Citibank’s retail businesses to
present and transact information to
customers online, over the phone or
on the ATM. This platform integrates
information from Citibank’s legacy
systems and is the basis of Citibank
Online and operates in over 40
countries. In 2001, Carol
established the offshore Business
Processing Operations for back
office processing and call centers
in India which saves the bank
approximately $40M annually. Most
recently, Carol was the CTO for
Kaiser Permanente, where she was
charged with the task of
revitalizing a massive
infrastructure, incapable of meeting
the near term needs of the
healthcare and insurance business.
Over the past year, she has been
instrumental in improving systems
availability by 100 hours, saving
over $45m in reduced physician and
nursing time. Under her leadership,
the infrastructure team has cut
operations costs by over $75M. She
led the development of the
innovation agenda; promoting
technology innovation in support of
affordable healthcare and was
responsible for contact center
technology strategy.
Paul Sforza

U.S. Treasury Department
Paul is a seasoned technology
executive with greater than 22 years
of retail banking and IT experience.
In his current role, Paul is
responsible for leading technology
innovation within the US Treasury
Department including key technology
strategies (i.e., Identity
Management, Hardware Virtualization,
Application Hosting, Business
Analytics, Application Integration
and SOA). Comprised of twelve
bureaus, Paul is responsible for
overarching IT Strategy across the
US Treasury Department
infrastructure that manages a debt
portfolio of over $8 trillion
dollars and processes daily cash
transactions in excess of $58
billion dollars. Previously, he was
a Vice President with JP Morgan
Chase and Company responsible for
defining key strategies,
architectures and resulting
implementation plans for extremely
large IT portfolios (between $250
million to $1 billion dollars in
annual IT spend). While at JPMorgan
his areas of focus included
everything from IT Portfolio
Management, Platform Consolidation,
Channel Integration, and Emerging
Technology to Architecture Process

Gerald Shanholt, Ph.D.

Gerry Shanholt has a diverse 30 year telecom & networking background successfully contributed to research and development, marketing, sales and P&L management. Gerry began his career at Bell Laboratories, where he designed software for switching systems and operational support systems. Gerry was recruited to work for ITT Corporation (a multi-national $5B telecom equipment provider), where he focused and refined ITT's digital loop carrier and digital switching systems. Gerry was then hired by Fujitsu America, a subsidiary of Fujitsu, Ltd., to start their US network switching business. Within three years under his leadership, the business unit grew to over 120 people and introduced the world's first working ATM switch. Gerry also held senior executive positions at NEC America, a $900 million supplier of communication products for both public and enterprise networks, where he introduced leading edge data switching systems and software for rapid feature introduction and network management. Gerry has also acted as President and Chief Executive Officer at a number of venture-backed firms, brought in by Board of Directors to generate business growth and drive shareholder value. Gerry studied at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn where he received his BS, Applied Mathematics with a minor in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D., Mathematics.
